I'm writing this review via my mothers account, since I don't have my own Amazon and ordered it through hers. But I am the one using the kit, after all.Obviously, if you buy a $250 gaming console, you're going to want to protect it and have good accessories. I extensively looked through the different starter kits available for the 3DS before purchasing one, and I decided on this one. It offered the things I was looking for without added useless things.I'll start by going over each part of the kit:2 in 1 carry pouch: Very nice, I like that I can detach part of the case to make it smaller if I desire. The industrial key hook thing (honestly do not know what those are called) that can be used on the pouch is great when I want to use the 3DS pedometer; I can attach the key hook to my pants, my backpack, or my purse and feel that my 3DS won't fall.Charging cradle: This I am a bit unsure of, as I cannot tell if my DS is really charging in it or not because the charging lights are covered up when it sits inside. It is pretty, though. Doesn't seem cheap, so it may be useful to some people. I am personally okay with just plugging my DS directly into a plug without a cradle, period.3DS Finger styluses: I adore these little things, I usually use my finger nails to tap my screen when I'm too lazy to get a stylus out, so these are perfect. I can finally cut my thumbs nails super short!3DS plastic styluses: Good for back-ups, the company also offers metal styluses for purchase if you don't like plastic back-ups. Styluses love to disappear randomly on me. Also, if getting a 3DS for a younger kid, you will need a lot of extra styluses. A lot.Crystal case: This came scratched for me, but CTA has AMAZING customer service and immediately got me a replacement. It is a great item, it's very snug on the 3DS which is definitely something you want; unless you enjoy your case falling off your 3DS on a daily basis. The only con to this, and to ANY kind of protective cover, is it CANNOT be docked on the 3DS dock that Nintendo supplies. HOWEVER, I do NOT attribute this to CTA's case design. From my measurements, the 3DS official dock is made so that the EXACT size of the 3DS is the only thing that will fit on it. Any sort of protective case regardless of who its made by and how it's made will result in the inability to dock your 3DS. I personally would rather protect such an expensive item rather than be concerned about docking. Docking and just plugging the DS directly in take the same amount of time for me anyway.Dust cover set: Nice and they stay in, but the covering of certain ports (especially the game port) seems unneeded to me unless you plan to store and not use your 3DS for long periods of time. I do use the one for the headphone port simply because it's not a port I will use 24/7. Some people do use these all the time though, I just constantly have games in the slot and have the 3DS charging whenever I am not using it (and when I'm at home, it's still on the charger half the time while I play).USB travel charger: Works well, definitely good to have a back up charger even if you don't travel.European outlet adapter: An interesting addition, I may or may not go to Europe but it's definitely good to have on hand should I plan a trip. A lot more handy if you travel a lot, obviously.USB car charger: Another handy thing to have, especially if you're like me and tend to fall asleep using your electronics and want it charged so you can take it somewhere. Works just fine.USB charging cable for 3DS, DS Lite, DSI, and XL: I love this, I have a DS Lite that I kept to use for Pokemon trading between all my games, so being able to charge both at the same time if I need to is amazing. Both systems charge at the same time with no problems.3DS game cases: Not sure if I will use these until my storage case is full, but would be handy for people who just want to bring one game along with them without a lot of bulk. I'm the kind of person who likes to bring ALL my games around, who knows what I may feel like playing once I'm not at home? See farther down for comments on the storage case.Set of stereo ear buds: These actually surprised me, the sound quality is pretty good; I wasn't expecting good sound from them. They aren't flimsy, and tugging doesn't cause them to give or break. That's really all you need to know about ear buds.Screen protector kit: Very good, I use screen protectors on any fingerprint prone electronic device I possess. However the cover for the bottom/touch screen appears to be just an itty bitty bit smaller than the screen; however if you apply it just right it's not even noticeable.Neck Strap: This I was a little unsure about even existing, but I realized I love wearing my 3DS around my neck for some odd reason! The 3DS is surprisingly light, and makes for an interesting "necklace". The strap can be wrapped a few times around your wrist for use as a wrist strap if desired.Game Storage Case: I love this little thing, it also has a few slots meant to hold SD cards, since the 3DS uses full sized SD cards for memory. My games go in, stay in, but come out easily when I go to click them out. Very good.Splitter: This is another favorite of mine, not only is it good for the DS, but for anything that you can put headphones in. I've had countless times where I've had to awkwardly share ear buds with someone because we had no splitter to use our own headphones for music. This will happen no more. :D I tested the sound quality by having two sets of ear buds plugged in, since when sound is split it can decrease the volume or quality. I didn't notice a huge decrease when sound comes through the splitter, turning the volume slightly up fixes any discrepancies from splitting.So, now for the general review:Pros:~Properly colored! I'm an "artsy" person, and although it's a silly pet peeve, I cannot stand when companies can't match colors for accessories. That partially got my attention on this kit. The company actually tried to match their accessories to the Aqua 3DS palette. It is a good enough color match that it doesn't offend my eyes; some of the companies looked like they didn't even try to match the colors right.~Not cheaply made, all pieces have integrity and don't make me feel like they would break in a week.~Doesn't include anything too silly, like those weird "controller" attachments.Cons:~Charger is not UL approved, this was more a qualm of my mothers, but I thought I would add that just in case anyone was wondering.~No USB SD card reader. I and everyone I know already has one, or has an SD slot on their computer, but some people may want one of these, so again I just wanted to add that information; one is not included in this set. I personally didn't need one, so I rather this set over one that has one just because it would be a totally useless object to me.If I think of anything else to add I will do so. Overall, I love this set and don't regret my purchase. It's a 5 star because I know I am finicky (just ask my mother or my boyfriend!), and nothing particularly bothered me a lot about this set. Also, the company is a pleasure to deal with about any problems you may encounter with your set, they are very nice and have prompt responses (I have had a lot of bad customer service experiences in the past, ugh).

Just got yesterday my Blue 3DS together with this kit. I think the kit compliments very well the 3DS console. Some of the accessory of the kit is great and some are no big deal at all.Here are the goods and bad of this kit.* 2 in 1 carry pouch, 5 Stars- it fits well. It makes the unit safe and easy to carry around, can be used for 2 devices (no big deal)* Crystal case, 5 Stars- Good quality looks nice and snaps on real well, keeps my 3DS safe and clean.* Screen Protectors,- 4 Stars - Easy to put on and does not affect game play.* Game Storage Case, 5 stars- Keeps my games together, it's easy to carry around it's* Splitter, 3 stars-I don't know if this is a normal issue in splitters, but the sound is loosing a bit of quality.* Neck Strap, 2 Stars- no big deal* USB car charger, 4 Stars* European adapter, 1 Star I don't travel.* USB travel charger, 4 Stars not bad to have.* 3DS Styluses, 5 Stars- great to have, and its good quality* 3DS Finger styluses, 1 Star no use at all.* USB charging cable, 5 Stars - Good thing to have extra.* Earphones - 4 Stars - I don't expect much when it comes to headphones that come packaged in something like this, they are very comfortable.* Price - 5 Stars - Its fairly priced for such a kitOverall it is a very useful kit. I would highly recommend this to anyone buying a 3DS or who currently owns one.

When I got my 3DS, I looked at every starter kit available on Amazon and which kit had what I wanted. Specifically I was looking for a crystal case, screen protectors and a carrying case; everything else was gravy. This was the only kit I could find that indeed included the crystal case (I have one on every single DS in my house; 3 DS Lites and one DSi). When I ordered this, I was hoping since the company was aware these were arriving scratched, they would change the packing so that doesn't happen. However, mine arrived all scratched up as it did with other reviewers. I've already contacted customer service, but it just seems to me that I shouldn't have to go another step to get a decent product, especially when the company is aware the issue exists.The carrying case is nice; I actually have my 3DS on one side and DSi on the other since it's essentially two cases zipped together. The car charger works and the USB cable is nice because I can charge two devices at once. The screen protectors went on no problem and I don't notice any reduced sensitivity. I like the finger styluses, the other four seem flimsy to me. I don't like how they look in my 3DS either because they don't match the color of the DS; they look distinctly blue, while the 3DS is more of a teal color (which the case matches better, but the other accessories don't). The multi-game case was something I was really looking forward to as well. It holds 22 games and 2 SD cards. I was hoping it would be like the HORI game cases that hold 24 games, but have an adapter that fits in for an SD card if you choose to have one in the case. I am never going to carry an SD card separately because the one I have is big enough so I'm losing two game slots out of the game case. The individual game cases are a really tight fit; I was worried about my game while trying to get it in the case. The headphones are ok; I didn't try to put the covers on because another reviewer said they turned her fingers blue so I left those in the plastic. The splitter works, but I'm not a snob about audio so if I can hear the sound, it's fine with me. The dust cover set was neat, but I'll probably only use the headphone cover and one can always use a screen cleaning cloth. I'll probably never use the wall charger or European charger, but they are nice to have just in case. I'll never use the neck strap or the charging cradle because the crystal case makes that impossible.Overall, this kit is a decent value since to buy the crystal case and multigame case separately is half the cost of this kit and you get two sets of screen protectors instead of one. I wish this had also included an AR card case as many of the other kits did, but I wanted the crystal case for the 3DS more.
