First of all, I'd like to say that I've never played any of the previous Nintendog titles. I ordered this package because I have previously owned a DS Lite and a DSi, and wanted to upgrade now that the price of the 3DS is almost $100 less than when it first came out.The other available colors seemed boring to me - red, black, blue...it's been done. And of course Nintendo knows there are lots of people like me out there who want a cute color and let's face it, I'm pretty darn shallow when it comes to these things. When I saw this package, I knew I was ready to buy a 3DS. I was going to wait until Paper Mario came out, but who knows when THAT is going to happen!I don't care about Nintendogs at all, and the heavy use of the mic feature has me even less interested in getting into it. I have 4 cats, so I can just pet one if I want to. I felt like a dork calling "Blueberry! Blueberry!" into a screen (*sigh* I know, I know. Could have picked a less dorky name =^-*=) while in my room alone. And to make matters worse, the mic doesn't pick up your voice when there is even a hint of background noise. Does this give you a picture of a girl calling "Blueberry! Blueberry!" in a silent, darkened room? It should. But, I'm not going to enter my opinion of this game in my review (at least not stars-wise), because I haven't played it much yet and it isn't the reason I ordered this package.To the 3DS: Shallow specs like color aside, this is a pretty cool handheld. The 3D is crisp and adds a nice depth to your gaming experience, and when you're in the mood to play without, you can always turn 3D off or pop in any pre-3D DS title. The eShop is also nice - you can get some of your old favorites like Super Mario Land and Kirby's Dream Land, in all their gray and black goodness.Overall, I've got to give the 3DS 5 stars. It does what it promises it will do, and bless them for rethinking that awful dry plastic cover on the DSi. Nobody wants to feel like they're holding a wooden spoon.

Our granddaughter loves this, and the color is beautiful! It will keep her brothers away! The game that comes with it looks nice, and now I need to find a pink case for her 3DS.
